A New Tone for Allure -- China!

Just in time for your Halloween Weekend, Roslin and CJ have released 6 new makeups in the palest of pale Allure tones, China. Orginally made for hyasynth Tiramisu, these gothly beauties are now available at the Fleur store and will be available tomorrow at ~silent sparrow~.



There are six makeups, each with 3 variations, enough ghostly presence, for everyone's inner goth, or Commedia dell'arte character. They are China Coeur, Femme Fatale, Licentious, Mystique, Perish and Sinuous.

Introducing Your Allure CSAs

With a number of you asking for advice and assistance with the new Allure skins from Fleur we have decided to hire several of our Allure Launch Models as Customer Service Assistants to help you. As models they are experienced at tweaking shapes and putting *that* look together with the new Allure makeups.

They will be in the shop regularly throughout the week. We'll post a partial schedule as soon as we have one. But each CSA will announce in the Fleur Update Group Chat that she is in the store. While, of course, they will glady answer any Fleur-related questions, their particular expertise is to help you find YOUR Allure :)

So please give a warm welcome to the first Fleur Allure CSAs -- Noena Merlin, Fury Stapleton, Cordi Biddle and Rosie Barthelmess. Look for their "Allure Model" tag in the store soon.

Allure is Launched!

We had a super party at Fleur yesterday, with DJ duckyfresh Watanbe, 9 super Flickr winners as our Allure Models** and all of you who came to help us celebrate the debut of an astonishing new skin line from the talented pixels of CJ Carnot and Roslin Petion.

Allure is all its hype promised. A delicious new base and body, 6 new scrumptious skintones and 18 makeups overall! Since I was busy talking with all of you and with the models, I didn't take any pictures, so here are a few of the pictures of our Jolie Fleur Flickr members have been posting wearing the new Allure skins. Please feel free to post yours as we will be refreshing the store pictures from time to time!

Introducing ... Allure

Please join us at the Fleur sim on Sunday, October 19 at 12 noon SLT for the launch of the new Fleur skin line, Allure. Named in a contest [the winners Umbra Lunardi and Ran Garrigus], Allure is the new premium line of skins for Fleur.

Painstakingly created by the talents of CJ Carnot and Roslin Petion, Allure is a truly hybrid skin that integrates both photo-sourcing and hand-drawn techniques. Each skin includes mod brows and pubic panties.

Allure is priced at L$1200 for a single and L$3k for a 3 pack. At the launch a total of 18 makeup looks in 6 skin tones with be available. A new note is that demos will be transferable!

At the launch there will be a gift bag, which will be available for 24 hours in case you can't make the opening. From 12 noon on there will be 9 Allure models, among them many of our Flickr contest winners, who will be showing you the new Allure skins.

On Monday, October 13, 2008 at 9am SLT, the Fleur Skins Mainstore will close in preparation for the launch of the new skin line on Sunday, October 19 at a time to be announced :).



At that time ALL CURRENT FLEUR GIFT CARDS WILL EXPIRE and the retiring Vivant makeups will fade into our memories, unless we've been wise enough buy them for our inventories ;)

So three things to do.

1. Make sure you have used your Fleur Gift cards before next Monday at 9am SLT.

Think of glamor and luxury, of wonderful warm skintones, of elegant and dramatic makeups and of fur shrugs, satin sheath dresses, and diamonds glittering in the Klieg lights. . .

Drop your suggestion for the name of the new skin line in a notecard with your name in the title on TaP Shepherd by midnight SLT, Thursday, October 2. If they choose your name to use for the new line you will be rewarded with a generous gift of the new skins :) [You'll have to provide the diamonds!]

Time is Running Out!

The 12 Vivant makeups that are retiring to make way for the new Fleur skin line have only a short time left -- two weeks at the most -- so this is a good time to check to make sure you have what you want. I know at those prices I'm trying new looks and skin tones. Why not? At L$250 per makeup and L$600 per trio, it's a no-brainer ;)

Celebrating Fleur Clothing!

The current Jolie Fleur Flickr Contest asks our group members to clothe themselves in Fleur. As group admin I can't enter, so I thought I'd share three of my favorite Fleur outfits with you, hoping you too will want to enter the contest! Prizes will be Fleur Gift Cards for the photo or photos that best show off Fleur's clothes, plus publication of your photo in the Fleur blog.



On the left is the "Mai" swimsuit. It comes in this modest version as well as a more midriff-baring one. The detail is the quality you expect from anything Fleur -- clean design, matched seams and a prim skirt that fits :) Shoes are the Office Fling Slingbacks in Blue. On the right is "Avril", a lovely strapless dress in flower-petaled lavender [remember what they say about April showers ;)] I de-pouffed the system skirt a bit, but otherwise perfection! Nobody does a system skirt better than CJ Carnot, I wager :) The dress comes with a small sweater, but I opted for the bare shoulder look.

In the middle is something old and new. Recently Fleur released their popular Desk Set Suit in Lilac, Pink and Seafoam. I'm wearing the latter. Again the system skirt is superb -- just look at the ruching, but what you can't see is the perfect zipper on the back of the skirt. Details are a Fleur hallmark for sure! The system top has wonderful ruffles that don't require an attachment point and don't require adjustment. Sometimes simple is good!

Shoes for Avril and Desk Set are the Satin Slingbacks in Black. Hair is ETD Patricia in Apricot, skin is Fleur Vivant Basic Pink 2 in Buff [one of the current sale skins at Fleur] -- necklace is MiamMiam's Feather Pendant Necklace and Earrings.

Soirée It Is! [Vivant Photos, Week 2]

First my apologies for the delay in awarding the Week 2 winners of the Retiring Vivant skins contest. RL intervened :(

Black Swan Glides into Fleur ...

At last we can welcome The Black Swan to the Fleur home sim after its debut at The Black Swan Project.


The Fleur skin was created to compliment Nicky Ree's Black Swan gown and uses the Boutique Shoujo skin in the Lily skin tone. Black Swan 1 was created to Nicky's specifications, 2 is a classic makeup look, the lip color on 3 is the same hue as the beak on a black swan.

So come say hello, get those demos, buy, and enjoy wearing the sumptuously dramatic makeups, enjoy their grace, but don't feed the swans, 'cause they bite!

Nope, none of the Fleur team is going anywhere, but 12 Vivant skins are going to be discontinued upon the launch of Fleur's new line of skins in September. And they are on sale for 50% off until then.

*Featuring Fleur* -- No "Calamity" This ;)

Rather far from it.

Yesterday Calamity's Haute Models Agency, aka CHM, presented a runway show at the OnRez Stage. The clothes were from Aeris Pinazzo's Mythology and the hair was by Calico Ingmann of Calico Creations. And ........... the models wore exclusively skins from Fleur :)

It was a pleasure to cooperate with CHM and the CHM Show Arranger, Vivienne Darcy. It was a smooth, well presented show and all I heard about our skins were raves.

These are snapshots I took after the show, madly camming around. Calamity Hathaway was kind enough to let me post them here :) So not high- fashion photography, but these ladies look HOT in their Fleur Skins. The Black Swan Project

Rezzable has invited the top designers and artists in the metaverse, including Fleur's Roslin & CJ, to create their dream piece inspired by Black Swan, a sim created by Light Waves.


The Fleur skin was created to compliment Nicky Ree's Black Swan gown and uses the Boutique Shoujo skin in the Lily skin tone. Black Swan 1 was created to Nicky's specifications, 2 was a classic makeup look, the lip color on 3 was the same hue as the beak on a black swan. Available for 1200 lindens at the Black Swan sim only until August 5 at which time it will be available in our main shop.

Fashion Show Invite below

The event will be launched with a fashion show and live music event on the Black Swan sim on the 16th of July, Wednesday and will close on 4th of August. Rezzable will be showcasing the work of the best designers in SL in a gallery space especially created for this event in Black Swan.

A Farewell Sale for 13 Vivant skins -- 50% Off!

When it rains it pours with good news from Fleur :)

We're saying an eventual good-bye to 13 of the current Vivant line at Fleur. How long will the sale last? We're not sure, but only until the NEW line of Fleur skins is ready to be introduced. So shop early and often :)

Individual skins are now L$250 and the multipacks are L$600. The sale skins are marked by a round green "50% off sale" sign. The sale price will show AFTER you choose "pay."

Not Just Any Skin -- Only for Relay for Life -- Coming Friday!

Roslin & CJ have graciously consented to donate an, as yet unreleased, skin which will be placed for sale at the Fleur Mainstore on Friday to benefit my Relay for Life team, The Passionate Redheads. ALL proceeds go directly to the Second Life ® Relay for Life to be held inworld July 19-20.

The SL® Relay for Life is a multi-sim virtual version of the American Cancer Society's RL relay, with all funds raised going to fund cancer research. Having just lost a good SL® friend to the disease, I'm going to be relaying my heart out, while wearing the new Fleur skin.

Not only is the skin new and exclusive to Relay, but the "Emma" skin base is new to Fleur and for this Relay Edition only. Only one skintone and three wonderful makeups, all appropriate for redheads and "otherheads" too!

They will arrive on Friday and be in the official RFL vendors. We'll let you know when they are in the store, but until then my heartfelt thanks to CJ & Roslin!

The Belts are Here!

Today is the day to go take a look at Roslin & CJ's new system layer belts that you've been seeing on the fashion feed recently! They are the answer to a fashionista's prayer. No more tweaking prims just to have your AO make you look sliced in half *grin*

These belts are provided on both the jacket and shirt layers for easier mixing and matching. You can use them to dress up a plainer outfit or to pull an outfit together. We're sure you'll find many uses for these style gems. Need I add that, with CJ and Roslin, the textures are rich and beautifully executed.


There are six wonderful styles, each is available in 8 colors that match the Fleur gloves. Most are worn at the mid-thoracic level [Thanks to Sasy Scarborough for that term LOL] They are L$100 each, but for L$500 you get the multipack, saving yourself L$300. Do You "Dig Ophelia"? We Do!

The latest and, alas last, makeup in the current Vivant series of skins has just been released. Here's what Roslin Petion has to say about the inspiration for the makeup.

"As soon as I saw hyasynth Tiramisu's homage to cello rock band, Rasputina, I was smitten. Her "How We Quit The Forest" ensemble artfully marries Victorian and punk influences that inspired me to create a matching makeup named after another Rasputina song. "Dig Ophelia," which will be the last regular Vivant release, features a saucy beauty mark , lush lips, and lids with just a touch of shimmer. It is available in 6 skin tones and 3 makeup variations created to compliment the various colors in hya's set."

Having had the privilege of previewing the three makeups I can safely say that Roslin and CJ have done it again -- creating a summery forest-friendly release that you will want to wear!

... after the break of morn. After the dancers' leaving, after the stars are gone" ... two lines from a sad little 1890s US song. but there is no sadness here!

"After the ball is over" gives us chance to admire CJ Carnot's absolutely splendid build for the Fleur/Nicky Ree collaboration Spring Ball without the distraction of elegant ladies and well-dressed gents.

The ball was held last Saturday in the magnificent ballroom spanning the two sims. I didn't take pictures as I was on low resolution to survive, but here is one taken by one of our Jolie Fleurs, Elaine Lisle. [Thanks Elaine!]

hya Tiramisu and Achariya Maktoum came as charming Goth boys to make sure the ladies had enough partners. You can see Achariya's report in her blog here.

But the skins *sigh* -- I fell in love with the new Shoujo"Florence." Not too many shots on our Jolie Fleur Flickr group yet, but here are two, from Jyla and hya, the details below.

Spring Ball Today

We are excited to invite you all to the Spring Ball being held in the Fleur and Tropical Orchid sims in celebration of our collaboration with Nicky Ree, Alienbear, Calla, and other very talented content creators. Peruse the latest Nicky Ree and Fleur releases made just for this event, and enjoy live music in the splendidly luxurious ballroom crafted by the very talented CJ Carnot. Look for a lm to the ball in the Ball poster hanging in the window at Fleur main shop or ask Samara Barzane for a tp. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Nicky Ree Collaboration

I know we've been very quiet over at Fleur but it's not without good reason! We've been working on a new set of makeups for both our Shoujo and Vivant lines. The amazingly talented Nicky Ree asked us to contribute a series of skins that would compliment her upcoming period inspired range of gowns. While it was a lot of work, Nicky's gowns are so unique and breathtaking, it was easy to be inspired. Today we are releasing the first 3 makeups which were created using our Vivant base. I may be a bit biased but I find it hard to pick a personal favorite from the three! They all feature a new technique I'm using for the lip texture that I'm rather pleased with. It imparts a lovely glow without making it look too heavy a gloss.

Calla and Alienbear have also contributed hair and jewelry. The hair in our Le Fleur ad features hair made by Tigerlily Koi,especially for the collaboration. Alienbear's jewelry set for Le Fleur is lovely but we didn't receive it in time for the ad unfortunately.


I'd also like to take the time to let everyone know that Nicky Ree and Fleur will be hosting a spring ball to celebrate the new release. CJ is building a gorgeous ballrom especially for this event. I hope to see you all there!

Last Day For Vanity Limited Release Skin

Today is the last day to purchase our limited release Vanity skin that we made for Glam magazine's 7 Deadly Sins photo spread.

We were one of seven skin makers asked to create unique skins fitting the theme of the 7 deadly sins for GLAM magazine. It was an honor to be in the company of skin makers like Tuli Austurias and Stephanie Misfit. The spread was top notch and it's available here . I struggled a lot with the skin, we wanted something appropriate for our theme-vanity, something with a bit of drama, but we also wanted it to be wearable for our customers.

The skin features special shading to bring out your cheekbones, a lightly glossed lip, and shimmery blue eyes with a touch of green shimmer liner. Because of the special nature of this skin, it will be available for one month only so rush over before you miss out!

Fleur Skins wins a "Stylie" Award for Best Variety of Makeups

A Happy 2nd Birthday to Second Style Magazine -- you don't look a day over 1 ;)

Seriously, thanks to all those involved at Second Style Magazine for their dedication to the quality presentation of Fashion in SL™ over the past two years and especially to Iris Ophelia..

AND BIG Congratulations to Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot for their always innovative and beautiful makeups.

Last year they won the 2007 Bloggers Choice Award for Best Skin. This year they are a recipient of one of the first Stylie Awards begun to celebrate the best in SL™ fashion. Fleur's award was for the Best Variety of Makeup in the Skin Designer category.
