Tete a Pied's Review Copy Policy

The ever so talented Sol Columbia posted about her policy on review copies recently on her blog . We've been thinking about establishing a policy for a very long time. New blogs and magazines pop up all the time, writers come and go and I try to keep on top of everything but it is a bit of challenge. New release days have become that much more stressful as I try to figure out who to drop review copies on, what items to drop on them, etc. So for all those reasons, as well some mentioned by Sol, we are going to adopt an 'ask and you shall receive policy'

Spelling It Out
Review items are available under these conditions:

1. You drop a note card or send me an e-mail at roslin.petion@gmail.com of the exact item you want a review copy of. Please be detailed and include both skin tone and makeup name or in the case of outfits or other items, item name and color. Ex: Janvier Cocoa set or Rose Medium Peach Melba.

2. You state the purpose/where/how of your review copy request. It just has to be a blog or some sort of publication. Most importantly, it is for review, we do not give out content to other creators to use in their ads or do product trades, we get way too many requests for that for it to be reasonable.

3. You do not abuse the system. Please don't ask for our latest 4 pack in every single one of our 9 skin tones.

I Love My Calendar Girl

CJ and I have been discussing the possibility of branching out into clothing since the infancy of Tete a Pied but with the skin line and our first life jobs, we struggled to find the time to create a proper clothing line. Recently, we came up with the idea of creating just one outfit a month that ties in to the seasons. Unfortunately, the idea came to us AFTER the New Year but better late then never, right?

This month's release, Janvier (French for January) is inspired by the big trends of this year's fall/winter collections. This eight piece fur and tweed ensemble is available in Slate and Cocoa and includes a limited release skin made to compliment each color scheme. Each skin is available in your choice of one of 9 skin tones. Once next month's set is available, the Janvier skins will be retired permanently. You also have the option of buying the outfits and skins separately.

Natural Beauty

CJ and I have been toying with the idea of doing a no makeup natural skin for awhile now. Make no mistake, I love makeup, but there is an art to creating a beautiful, natural looking skin. We kept putting it off because we were unsure how to make a skin that was different enough from our natural makeup 4 pack, Ingenue. CJ decided to take use it as an opportunity to experiment a bit. He's done a little bit of photosourcing, our skins are normally 100% hand drawn. Pay particular attention to the brows, they are my favorite bit. We also decided to give mod skins a try. I have to say in all honesty, it was a trying experience. Finding a way to hide the Linden belly button without turning our belly button into a big black hole was especially trying.

We've created 4 looks with the skins. Bare is our most basic natural look, not a trace of makeup. In addition to the obvious, the lips on the Freckles skin has just a hint of lip gloss and sun kissed cheeks. The Rosy skin has flush on the cheeks and nose and the Minimal skin is a subtle makeup look, a softly smudged brown liner and neutral lip gloss.
